| Coat: The Anatolian Shepherd can have a coat that is medium length or medium long, with short or rough double coat; the outer coat is smooth and the length may vary greatly depending on various factors, the coat can be any color and any length. |
Care: Very little grooming is required with the Anatolian Shepherd. When shedding the dog should be combed to remove dead hairs. |
Characteristics: The Anatolian Shepherd was bred to guard flocks, therefore it becomes very protective of other animals in the house and will go to great lengths to protect them. This is not a dog for the novice dog lover. |
Temperament: Extremely protective, quick to learn, but may choose to disobey. Not generally a good house pet. |
Training: Much training is required to make this dog a desirable companion, this breed is better suited as a working dog. |
Health Concerns: Entropion, hip dysplasia, cancer, and cardiac disease
